Zendaya is not waiting for the Mary Jane trend to come to her. On October 1, 2026, the actress and Swiss sportswear brand On launched the Zendaya On second collection, their second co-created lineup, and it is noticeably louder than round one. Built with her longtime stylist Law Roach, the drop swaps the quiet neutrals of the first capsule for a custom python print, adjustable silhouettes, and one genuinely unexpected shoe: the Cloudnova Moon Mary Jane.
The sneaker is the centerpiece of the Zendaya On second collection. According to Hypebeast, the Cloudnova Moon Mary Jane is a low-profile take on the silhouette introduced in the pair's first collection, built with an engineered knit upper and On's speed-lacing system instead of a traditional buckle strap. It lands in three colorways, Clove/Ivory, Dew/Antler, and Black/Ivory, and it reads less like a polished retro shoe and more like a knit flat with sneaker guts. As Hypebae reported, the shoe debuts alongside an apparel lineup that leans hard into print and movement.
The python print is the whole personality
The apparel side of the Zendaya On second collection commits to the bit. A custom python print runs across a bodysuit, a form-fitting long-sleeve top, and a half-zip anorak, and Zendaya described it in a statement to FashionUnited as a print that acts like "a modern camo." Oversized crewnecks and sweatpants get ruching and adjustable bungee-cord detailing so wearers can reshape the fit on the fly. It is gym technology dressed for the street, which has been the partnership's whole pitch since Zendaya first teamed up with On in 2024.
Roach said in a press release, as reported by Hypebae, that their work with On has "always been about pushing what sportswear can look and feel like." He has been shaping some of Zendaya's most recognizable red-carpet looks for years, and his eye for proportion is all over this drop. He also owned Paris Fashion Week this week, which you can read about in our coverage of Law Roach owning Paris Fashion Week with Porsha Williams. The Zendaya On second collection is a different stage for the same instinct.
She is fighting in the clothes, not just wearing them
The launch skipped the standard lookbook entirely. The Zendaya On second collection arrived with an action-film-inspired short film directed by the Argentinian trio Pantera, with campaign stills shot by photographer Cass Bird. Adweek described the spot as an urban chase in which Zendaya fights off a crowd of opponents using martial arts, dressed head to toe in the new apparel. Letting her act in the clothes is a sharp move for a brand trying to reach younger women while taking on the sneaker giants, as Adweek noted in its breakdown of On's strategy.
Alex Griffin, On's chief marketing officer, told FashionUnited that cinematic storytelling has been a cornerstone of the partnership from the start, and that this chapter "takes that ambition somewhere new, while keeping movement at the heart of the story." The first collection launched in April with a campaign directed by Spike Jonze, so the theatrical bar for the Zendaya On second collection was already set high.
Where to find it
The Zendaya On second collection is available now through On's website and retail stores, with immersive pop-up experiences in Los Angeles, Paris, Tokyo, and Chengdu, according to Hypebeast. If you are shopping the October sneaker calendar anyway, there is plenty of company: the J Balvin x Jordan 4 Amazonas drop landed on October 2 with a croc-yellow finish, and October is stacked with retros and Halloween colorways across the board.
The timing works because the Mary Jane silhouette has been everywhere in fashion this year, and holrmagazine noted that Zendaya and On are taking the sporty route into the trend: knit construction, speed laces, no polish. And the sellout playbook is well established by now: just look at how quickly the Caitlin 1 sold out and left most fans empty-handed. If the Mary Jane sneaker is your target, early birds usually win these.
