The Apple Martin runway debut happened on Thursday, when the 22-year-old walked for Chloé at Paris Fashion Week. Wearing a bohemian white eyelet maxi dress with a delicate collar, V-neckline and scalloped hem, she brought months of fashion buildup to a head: Martin is an official face of the house, and the dress came from its romantic, ethereal spring/summer 2027 collection, according to USA Today. The Daily Mail also confirmed the debut, calling her Paltrow's mini-me on the catwalk.
The look sat squarely inside Chloé's current identity under creative director Chemena Kamali, who has steered the house toward soft, romantic dressing built on eyelet, lace and flowing silhouettes. On the runway, the white dress read as the evening version of the aesthetic Martin had already sold in print. Earlier this year Kamali praised Martin's "radiance and timeless beauty" in a statement about the campaign, as reported by InStyle.
From campaign face to catwalk
Martin's relationship with Chloé was established well before Thursday. She starred in the Chloé à la Plage 2026 campaign, a sun-drenched seaside shoot lensed by photographer David Sims, and she has fronted campaigns for GapStudio and Self-Portrait, according to USA Today. Page Six reported that she landed the Chloé campaign within days of her college graduation, a booking that drew praise from fans and restarted the online debate about celebrity children landing high-profile fashion work.
The campaign shoot leaned into a dreamlike mood. InStyle described the imagery as evoking "an imagined shoreline suspended in an endless afternoon," with Martin posing in swimwear, sundresses and chunky boho jewelry against oversized seashells. Kamali called the collection "an ode to a surreal summer fantasy," a phrase that could just as easily describe the runway dress that followed.
That runway moment will come with scrutiny. Martin is the daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, who announced their separation in 2014 and finalized their divorce in 2016. Her younger brother Moses made his own modeling debut for Burberry in June, according to USA Today. For both siblings, famous last names open doors that most working models spend years knocking on, and the internet has not been shy about saying so.
The conversation around second-generation models has only grown louder as luxury houses chase younger audiences. Runway Magazine's editorial team has noted that brands increasingly prize recognizable digital identities alongside traditional modeling credentials, and Martin arrives with both: a famous family name and a following of her own. Whether the industry treats her as a working model or a celebrity placement will depend on how often she shows up after this week.
Acting is the real goal
Modeling may turn out to be the side quest. Martin graduated from Vanderbilt University in May with a degree in law, history and society, and in a February interview with Vogue she described a rebellious phase of wanting to be nothing like her parents, USA Today reports. She has written songs with her father but has no interest in a singing career. "I like musical theater, but getting onstage by yourself to sing is so terrifying," she told Vogue. "My dream is to act."
She has already started. Martin made her television debut in HBO's "Rooster" in March, and her film debut is expected in an upcoming Nancy Meyers movie, according to USA Today. The runway walk reads as a very public stepping stone toward the acting career she says she wants.
Why the debut matters
Paris Fashion Week runs September 28 to October 6 this season, with 68 catwalk shows and 33 presentations across the city, according to The Media Eye. Putting its newest face on the runway turns a campaign relationship into a stronger endorsement for Chloé, and it hands Martin the kind of visibility most newcomers never get. How she uses it after the Apple Martin runway debut, and whether the next credits say model or actor, is the part worth watching.
