Anthrax Superstar Collab Drops Today at Brooklyn Projects

A metal band, a skate shop, and adidas

Anthrax has a sneaker now. The band's triple collaboration with Los Angeles skate shop Brooklyn Projects and adidas, the Anthrax Superstar, goes on sale in-store today, September 26, at Brooklyn Projects in LA. Members of Anthrax are expected to appear at the shop to sign pairs, according to Sole Retriever writer Zach Harris, who reported the release details.

The Anthrax Superstar rebuilds the classic shell-toe silhouette for actual skating. The upper is black ballistic Cordura nylon, matched with distressed black leather on the heel tab and the Three Stripes. A second layer of protection sits underneath the nylon as skateboard reinforcement, so the shoe holds up on a board. Yellow hits land on the tongue tag and the BP heel logo, while the midsole stays black to finish the look.

A year in the making

Brooklyn Projects first teased the Anthrax Superstar on Instagram back in December 2025. The preview showed a single image of the BP logo on the heel, and nothing in it indicated that Anthrax was involved. The full Anthrax connection only arrived when a complete look at the shoe surfaced in the spring of 2026. The December 2025 teaser went up roughly nine months before the shoe's September 2026 release date, which is a long runway for a single sneaker.

The Anthrax Superstar is only the first release in the partnership. A second Brooklyn Projects x Anthrax x adidas triple collaboration is already in the works, this time on a high-top white leather Conductor. Details on that shoe have not been released yet.

Metal meets the skate counter

The pairing makes sense if you know the shop. Brooklyn Projects was founded by Dom DeLuca, a former Headbangers Ball VJ, and has spent years as a fixture of the Los Angeles streetwear, skate, and music scenes. DeLuca and his team built the Anthrax Superstar around all three of those influences at once: the band, the shop, and the Three Stripes.

Crossover projects between bands and skate shops show up regularly. This one is more specific, because it brings adidas into a three-way build on the Superstar, the silhouette most people picture when they think of the brand. Dressing that shoe in skate-ready Cordura with metal-band branding puts it somewhere between the merch table and the skate counter.

The shop's track record with collaborations runs deep. Sole Retriever notes that Brooklyn Projects takes its collab efforts seriously, and the Anthrax Superstar fits a pattern of projects that pull from music, skateboarding, and streetwear at the same time rather than treating them as separate worlds.

Release details

The Anthrax Superstar releases in-store only at Brooklyn Projects in Los Angeles on September 26, 2026. Members of Anthrax will be on hand at the shop to sign pairs of the Anthrax Superstar, so the launch works as a band appearance as well as a product drop. No wider online release has been announced.

The in-store signing gives this launch a different shape from most sneaker drops this week. Fans who show up get the shoe and a signature from the band in one trip. For a project that started as a single heel-logo teaser on Instagram, a signing table at the shop is a hands-on way to bring it out.

A busy week for sneakers

Several notable sneakers drop this week alongside the Anthrax Superstar. Sports Illustrated's sneaker desk flagged a packed release calendar from September 22 to 26, with the Air Jordan 1 Low OG "Garden," the Air Jordan 40 "14," and the Nike Kobe 3 Protro "Orca" all scheduled for September 26. Against that field, the Anthrax Superstar stands out for being in-store only, with the band signing adding something no app-based drop can copy.
