Pinterest Beauty Trends have a new official scorekeeper. The platform released its first Beauty Trend Report on October 6, 2026, and the headline is that the era of copying a look exactly is over. "The new beauty flex is specificity," the report declares, arguing that the appeal now lies in the edit: a darker cat eye, a reflective nail finish, hair color that lands somewhere between copper, cherry cola and espresso.
The forecast is built on the platform's own search data, where weekly users increasingly arrive at hyper-specific queries. Among those users, 85 percent say they discovered new beauty trends or ideas on Pinterest before seeing them elsewhere, according to the company's research, while 64 percent say the platform is better for finding beauty trends that feel current. That early-discovery reputation is exactly what makes the report worth watching: it reads less like a recap and more like a preview.
Hair Gets Personal: Stripes, Copper and the New Bob
The all-over dye job is taking a backseat. Search interest in "pink hair stripe" is up more than fourfold, while "teal and pink hair" has almost quadrupled and "dark pink peekaboo hair" is up nearly fivefold, the report shows. "Pink hair, don't care," it notes, describing a look built on chunky stripes, teal pairings and dusty-rose pieces rather than a single flat color. Even accessories are part of the story, with searches for bedazzled claw clips climbing more than sevenfold.
Copper is the season's other big hair story. Searches for "mocha balayage hair" surged more than ninefold, "soft copper blonde" rose more than eightfold and "cherry cola brunette hair" climbed nearly ninefold. The report frames it as a richer, moodier era, with mocha, espresso, cherry cola, plum and copper building a warmer palette. The technique matters as much as the shade: darker bases mixed with lighter ribbons of color add contrast without going full fire-engine red.
Bobs, meanwhile, are loosening up. Searches for "long layered bob haircuts" climbed more than sixfold, while "French bob with wispy bangs" rose nearly fivefold. The emphasis is on movement and texture instead of one sharp, perfectly blunt cut: flipped ends, shaggy layers and wispy bangs that work with natural texture rather than fighting it.
Nails Turn Frosty, Sweet and Reflective
Nails are having the loudest season in the Pinterest Beauty Trends lineup. Searches for "polka dot cat eye nails" exploded more than sixteenfold, with "jelly pink chrome nails" up nearly fifteenfold and "milky white chrome nails almond" rising fifteenfold. The report groups the look under a playful label, describing reflective chrome, cat-eye, jelly and aurora finishes paired with polka dots, stripes, hot pink and darker gothic details. The takeaway is that the manicure has become a tiny accessory in its own right.
The café-inspired side of nails is just as strong. Searches for "caramel nude nails" jumped more than tenfold and "raspberry jelly nails" rose more than ninefold, alongside coffee shades, chocolate-covered strawberry and blood orange. Milky glazes keep the look soft and polished. Think of it as the warmth of a weekend café run, translated into a manicure.
Makeup is going icy too. Searches for "frosted makeup" nearly quadrupled and "silver eyeliner makeup" climbed by nearly half, according to the report, pointing to frosted finishes, metallic lips, silver liner, crystal accents and pastel-blue shadows. The report calls it a glossy, light-catching aesthetic with a slightly unreal edge.
Blush is doing the most right now, in the report's phrasing: peach, berry, terracotta and dusty-rose creams swept high on the cheeks and into the temples for a just-ran-into-your-crush flush. Searches for "dusty rose blush" climbed nearly threefold and "peach blush makeup" rose about two and a half times. The supporting cast is cloud-soft skin, blurred lips and soft wispy lashes, a combination that lines up with the softer blush revival already underway.
Scent, Skin and the Pantry Glow-Up
Fragrance is getting sweeter, softer and more comforting. Searches for "marshmallow perfume" rose about three and a half times and "milky perfume" more than doubled, leading what the report calls a cosy gourmand wave alongside easy-to-layer body mists. Searches for "solid perfume aesthetic" more than quadrupled, suggesting shoppers want scent that feels warm, nostalgic and close to the skin. Budget labels are already chasing the scent moment, with e.l.f. Beauty launching its first fragrance line this month.
The everything-shower has become a full ritual. Searches for "body wash for glowing skin" more than tripled and "dry brushing routine" rose about two and a half times, as dry brushing, exfoliating body washes, glycolic acid formulas and rich moisturizers turn everyday maintenance into a complete routine. Scalp care is part of the same reset, with "scalp detox" searches climbing about a fifth and treatment oils bringing the same energy to haircare.
The most unexpected shift is the move from pantry to vanity. Bone broth, rosemary water, avocado, rice water, turmeric and olive oil are finding their way into the glow-up, with searches for "skin foods" rising by about a third. The movement is strongest across Asia Pacific, where interest more than tripled, and it points to DIY masks and hair rinses making a comeback with simple staples doing double duty. It is worth pairing that enthusiasm with a dose of skepticism, as the ongoing debate over viral skincare ingredients shows.
Romance rounds out the report. Searches for "soft natural makeup looks" doubled and "curly butterfly cut" rose more than fivefold, sketching a heroine-between-chapters aesthetic: softly flushed, a little windswept, with loose natural texture and curls around the face.
What ties the Pinterest Beauty Trends together is permission to personalize. The platform's data suggests the winning move this season is not an exact replica of a viral look but a version tuned to your own hair, skin and taste: a stripe instead of a full dye, a café shade instead of a classic red, a scent with a little dessert energy. Beauty coverage aimed at Gen Z readers has noted the same drift away from heavy, one-size-fits-all routines toward lighter, skin-first approaches, according to FashioNZ. For a generation that treats the mood board as a starting point, that reads less like a set of rules and more like an invitation.
