Smartphones are about to get a lot more proactive. OPPO announced on October 13, 2026, that it is partnering with Manus, the AI agent platform, to bring agentic AI experiences to its devices through AI Mind Pilot, OPPO's vision for Personalized Proactive Intelligence. According to the announcement carried by Media OutReach Newswire, the collaboration integrates Manus' agentic capabilities into a new Agent Mode, letting users hand off complex, multi-step tasks and receive finished results instead of answers. The OPPO Manus agentic AI integration will debut on the upcoming OPPO Find X10 series running ColorOS 17. The OPPO Manus agentic AI partnership is OPPO's biggest bet yet on its Personalized Proactive Intelligence vision.
Agent Mode on the Find X10 series
The new Agent Mode is designed to move well beyond the familiar question-and-answer dynamic. As described in the announcement, AI Mind Pilot can understand a user's end goal, break it down into multiple steps, identify the relevant information, select the appropriate tools, and deliver a finished result — including by working directly with files and photos stored on the device.
Tech With Muchiri reported a concrete example: a user planning a trip can simply ask AI Mind Pilot to organize the travel plans. The assistant finds flight tickets, hotel bookings, restaurant reservations, and attraction tickets scattered across different apps on the smartphone, organizes them, and combines them with relevant online information to create a personalized, day-by-day itinerary — without the user manually gathering or uploading anything. It is a cross-app playbook that echoes other agent launches in the ecosystem — including the agent platform Flozic, which rolled autonomous agents across thousands of apps — but with the OPPO Manus agentic AI effort the agent lives at the OS level rather than inside a single app. The same capabilities extend to creative and professional work, with users able to ask the assistant to find and organize trip photos, locate specific images, or combine existing files and online information into a presentation, proposal, or portfolio from a single prompt.
OPPO's president of software engineering, Kai Tang, said the shift matters because agentic AI moves the interaction from answering questions to helping users get things done, with the goal of making personal AI a natural part of everyday life and work. Manus co-founder and CPO Tao Zhang noted that smartphones, as the devices central to people's daily lives, are a natural platform for personal AI agents — and that combining Manus' agentic capabilities with OPPO's system-level integration makes advanced agents more accessible through simple, natural interactions. The OPPO Manus agentic AI rollout starts with the Find X10 series before expanding to other OPPO devices.
Privacy by design: on-device processing
As AI assistants move from providing information to working with personal context and completing tasks, privacy and user control become central design questions — and the OPPO Manus agentic AI design answers them with an on-device-first architecture.
The OPPO Manus agentic AI implementation addresses this head-on with an on-device-first architecture. According to a syndicated version of the release carried by MarketMinute, ColorOS 17 uses on-device models to understand and organize relevant information locally. For local tasks such as finding, organizing, or renaming files and photos, the original content remains on the device and is never shared with Manus.
When a task genuinely requires external processing, AI Mind Pilot will ask for the user's explicit confirmation before any relevant content is uploaded or shared. Under the OPPO Manus agentic AI privacy model, explicit user confirmation is required before any content leaves the device. Users retain control over what information is accessed, which actions are taken, and whether external processing is allowed — a transparency model the two companies describe as keeping user choice and control at the core of the experience.
The race to put agents in every pocket
The partnership lands in the middle of an industry-wide push to make the phone itself an agentic device. Device makers and platform owners are converging on the same thesis: the assistant that lives where a user's files, messages, calendars, and apps already live has an inherent advantage over a chatbot that starts from zero context every session, and the OPPO Manus agentic AI announcement is the latest evidence of that convergence. OPPO's bet is that deep, system-level integration — the kind that lets an agent reach across apps and the device's own storage — is the differentiator, and Manus supplies the agent engine to prove it.
For Manus, the deal marks a notable expansion from its origins as a standalone agent platform into embedded, on-device experiences at the scale of a global handset brand, and it invites comparison with other on-device agent plays such as Meta's Muse Wonder launch for AI agents. For OPPO, it gives the Find X10 series a flagship differentiator as it heads into a crowded 2026 flagship season, positioning AI Mind Pilot as the centerpiece of the ColorOS 17 story. If the execution matches the announcement's ambition — proactive, multi-step, and privacy-respecting — the OPPO Manus agentic AI pairing could become the template other handset makers study. As reported by Tech With Muchiri, the integration is positioned around a simple promise: users describe the outcome, and the phone does the work.
