Yash Raj Films has revealed Beparwah as the title of its upcoming romantic action drama starring Ahaan Panday and Sharvari. The studio unveiled the name on Monday alongside a teaser poster carrying the tagline "Fearless in love," ending months of speculation about what the project would be called. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Aditya Chopra, the film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on March 26, 2027. According to Bollywood Hungama, the announcement was timed to land exactly five months before the film reaches cinemas.
A first pairing for two rising stars
Beparwah pairs Panday and Sharvari on screen for the first time, and the casting is a deliberate bet on two young actors whose recent work has put them in front of very different audiences. Panday became one of the industry's most talked-about newcomers with Saiyaara, the Yash Raj Films musical romance directed by Mohit Suri in which he starred opposite Aneet Padda. That film was his acting debut, and Beparwah is his second outing with the studio. Padda was quick to cheer the announcement, sharing the new poster on her Instagram Stories with heart emojis, as reported by Filmfare.
Sharvari arrives with a run of her own. She made her debut in Bunty Aur Babli 2, broke out with Munjya, and appeared opposite Alia Bhatt in Alpha in July. Beparwah reunites her with Bobby Deol, who also appears in the new film after working with her on Alpha. Aaishvary Thackeray plays the antagonist, a role that follows the attention he drew for his performance in Anurag Kashyap's Nishaanchi. The supporting cast gives the romance a harder edge, and the poster leans into that mix: Panday appears battered and armed while Sharvari holds a guitar.
A director returns to his home studio
For Zafar, Beparwah is a return to the studio where he built his name. The film is his fifth with producer Aditya Chopra, who also co-wrote the screenplay with him, and it follows Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Gunday, Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. His recent projects, including Jogi, Bloody Daddy and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, were made outside the Yash Raj Films fold. The Hollywood Reporter India notes that the director regards the banner as his alma mater, which makes this homecoming a talking point in itself for trade watchers.
Filming began in October last year, and much of the shoot took place in the United Kingdom, with additional work on sets in India. That scale fits Zafar's reputation for staging Hindi films on a large canvas, and early reporting has described Beparwah as a blend of intense romance and large-scale action, with a rivalry between Panday and Thackeray's characters driving the story. Plot details beyond that remain under wraps, and the studio has not yet shared a trailer or music from the film.
The timing of the reveal is part of the story. Filmfare points out that the announcement lands well ahead of the film's release, on a date that falls on Good Friday, which gives Beparwah a long holiday weekend to open on. Studios often use that kind of window for a big romantic release, since couples and families both turn out over the break, and Yash Raj Films has a long history of aiming its major titles at festive weekends. Beparwah will test whether that logic still holds for a young pairing without an established on-screen history together. If the opening weekend lands well, it will confirm Panday as more than a one-film success and Sharvari as a lead who can carry a large-scale romance. If it does not, the studio will still have the trailer and the music to change the conversation before release day.
The announcement leaves the usual questions open, and the answers will come in stages. A trailer will show how the romance and the action sit together, the music will test whether the guitar on the poster means anything for the soundtrack, and further casting announcements will fill out the world around the two leads. For now, the title does the work it needs to do: it gives audiences a name to attach to a pairing that Yash Raj Films clearly expects to carry a major release weekend.
