Tougen Anki Season 2 Reveals October 2 Premiere and New Cast

The long wait for Tougen Anki's second season now has an end date. REMOW announced that Tougen Anki Season 2, titled the Nikko Kegon Falls Arc, premieres in Japan on October 2, 2026, with a new key visual, trailer, theme songs, and three new cast members revealed alongside the date.

The new trailer previews the arc's new setting and its music. Hiromitsu Kitayama performs the opening theme, "BACKLASH," and TRACK15 performs the ending theme, "Hand in Hand." The trailer also introduces three characters tied to the new arc's central location. Kenichi Suzumura voices Kusabi Momoura, chief of the Momotaro Agency's Kegon Falls Branch Laboratory. Yuki Kaji voices Hizumi Momotsugi, the laboratory's 10th Unit Captain, and Kisho Taniyama voices Senritsu Momoo, its 3rd Unit Vice-Captain.

The season picks up after the Kyoto and Nerima arcs. According to the official synopsis shared by REMOW, Shiki and his fellow Rasetsu Academy students are growing stronger, but Yaoroshi rejects their lessons and leaves the academy to join the Oni Brigade. Shiki sets out after him with Mudano and the other students. Their destination is Nikko, where Kegon Falls has stopped flowing and a research facility has been built, one where experiments involving Oni are underway.

The Nikko Kegon Falls arc takes the story somewhere new

Season one, subtitled Dark Demon of Paradise, covered the manga's opening arcs. The new arc shifts the setting to Nikko, the mountain town famous for Kegon Falls, but the waterfall in the anime is no tourist attraction. Its waters have stopped flowing, and the Momotaro Agency's Kegon Falls Branch Laboratory now stands in its place.

That laboratory is where the three newly announced characters come in. Kusabi Momoura runs the facility, while Hizumi Momotsugi and Senritsu Momoo command its 10th and 3rd units, which puts them near the top of the site's chain of command.

The arc's central chase starts with Yaoroshi's defection. Drawn to Oni Brigade General Hayate Todoroki's call for the total eradication of the Momotaro, Yaoroshi leaves Rasetsu Academy behind. Shiki, realizing the Brigade's creed targets even noncombatants, follows with Mudano and the others. The setup trades schoolyard training for a rescue mission into hostile territory, and the trailer leans into that shift with darker lighting and long shots of the laboratory's halls.

The season will also run longer than a single cours. Anime News Network reports that the anime's official X account stated the second cours of Tougen Anki Season 2 will debut in April 2027, which makes the Nikko Kegon Falls arc a two-part run.

Cast, staff, and how to watch

The core voice cast returns alongside the new additions. Kazuki Ura leads as Shiki Ichinose, with Hiroshi Kamiya as Naito Mudano, Kotaro Nishiyama as Jin Kogasaki, Manaka Iwami as Homare Byobugaura, Shogo Sakata as Ikari Yaoroshi, and Natsuki Hanae as Juji Yusurube. Earlier season-two announcements also added Nobuhiko Okamoto as Hagure Nekosaki and Kent Ito as Yu Innami, among others.

Behind the scenes, Ato Nonaka returns to direct, with Hiroyuki Hashimoto assisting, Yukie Sugawara handling series composition and scripts, Ryoko Amisaki on character design, and KOHTA YAMAMOTO composing the music. Studio Hibari produces the animation, and PONY CANYON produces the music. The first season debuted July 11, 2025.

Two recap specials will air before the premiere: the Kyoto Arc recap on September 30 and the Nerima Arc recap on October 1, as reported by Final Weapon. The premiere itself lands on Nippon TV's Friday Anime Night block on October 2 in Japan.

International viewers get Tougen Anki Season 2 at the same time. REMOW confirmed the arc will stream outside Japan on Netflix, Crunchyroll, Amazon Prime Video, Rakuten Viki, and a long list of regional platforms, a wide rollout that puts the dark action series in front of the global audience it built with season one. It also lands in a crowded fall lineup that already includes the Overgeared premiere and Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle's Hulu debut.

That audience has reason to show up. Yura Urushibara's manga has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion since 2020 and has sold over 4 million copies in Japan, according to Anime Corner. Season one drew a solid following, and the new arc brings new villains, new theme songs, and a waterfall that stopped running. Plenty to watch for when Tougen Anki Season 2 premieres on October 2.
