The company announced in March 2026 that it is seeking a site for a massive new 1.6-million-square-foot manufacturing facility in the United States. As part of the site selection process for this commercial-scale manufacturing plant Niron Magnetics is working with Savills a global commercial real estate advisory firm. The Race to Break Chinas Monopoly
The United States has been making concerted efforts to reduce reliance on Chinese rare earths. According to Mining.com the U.S. Department of Defense recently signed a four-year agreement worth $96 million with Australian rare earth company Lynas to secure essential materials used in everything from smartphones to military jets.
This deal establishes a floor price of $110 per kilogram for NdPr oxide products and represents one of several moves by the U.S. government to diversify its critical minerals supply chain.
