Nine cities, four weeks

The routing hits rooms built for moments like this. After opening night in San Francisco, the duo play The Wiltern in Los Angeles on November 7 and the Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta on November 10, before heading to the Fillmore Detroit on November 13. The back half runs through the Citizens House of Blues in Boston on November 15, the Fillmore Silver Spring on November 19, HISTORY in Toronto on November 22, and Irving Plaza in New York on November 24, then wraps in Chicago on the 28th.

Fans who want tickets for the Gnarls Barkley tour will need to move fast. Tickets go on sale to the general public Thursday, September 24, at 10 a.m. local time through Ticketmaster, with Citi and Spotify Reserved presales starting Monday, September 21. An artist presale follows on Wednesday, September 23, but fans have to register by Sunday, September 20, at 10 p.m. ET to be eligible, so the clock is already ticking. According to TicketNews, VIP packages are also being offered for at least some of the dates.

A final album gets its moment on stage

The tour follows Atlanta, the album Gnarls Barkley released in March, which they have described as their third and final record. As reported by The Music Universe, it was their first full-length project in eighteen years, arriving after a recording silence that stretched across nearly two decades. The album is named for Atlanta, the city where both Green and Danger Mouse were born and raised, and it pairs his unmistakable gospel-inflected vocals with lush, cinematic production. The lead single, "Pictures," was their first new studio song in eighteen years.

In a statement, he said the "To Whom It Still Concerns" Tour "operates like an open book, exploring the universal matters of life, death and everything in between," adding, "These songs are the silver lining to an otherwise sad story. Come, and let's celebrate together the beautiful madness of it all."

That mood fits the band's history. Gnarls Barkley exploded in 2006 with "Crazy," a song that spent nine consecutive weeks at number one in the United Kingdom and became one of the defining singles of the decade. Their platinum-selling debut, St. Elsewhere, earned the duo multiple Grammy Awards and cemented their reputation for blending soul, hip-hop, rock, psychedelia, and pop into something nobody else was making.

Since their original run ended, both members stayed busy in very different lanes. Green became a household name as a solo artist and a coach on The Voice, while Danger Mouse built one of the most respected producing careers in music, working with artists like Adele, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Beck. Their return as a duo, first on record and now on stage, closes a loop that fans had mostly stopped expecting to close.
