The Drishyam 3 box office run just rewrote Ajay Devgn's career stats, and it took only seven days. The Hindi thriller Drishyam 3: The Conclusion hit a worldwide gross of ₹383.60 crore in its opening week, according to Sacnilk. That makes it his biggest worldwide earner ever.
A week that flipped the record books
The film opened on October 2, 2026, the Gandhi Jayanti holiday, and never looked back. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, it also stars Tabu, Shriya Saran and Jaideep Ahlawat. Sacnilk reports that the Drishyam 3 box office total passed the lifetime worldwide haul of Singham Again, which sits at ₹372.41 crore, by roughly ₹11.19 crore.
In India alone, the thriller collected ₹245.50 crore net in week one. ET Now puts the domestic gross at ₹294.60 crore, with another ₹89 crore gross coming from overseas markets. Overseas, it has already beaten Singham Again's entire lifetime international total of ₹75 crore by about ₹14 crore.
Day by day: huge weekend, steady weekdays
The opening day alone brought in ₹62 crore net, per ET Now the biggest opening day of Devgn's career. Saturday added ₹53.50 crore and Sunday ₹61 crore. Those first three days made up nearly 72 percent of the week's India net total, according to Sacnilk's breakdown.
Monday dropped to ₹21 crore, then Tuesday brought ₹19.50 crore with discounted tickets, Wednesday ₹15.50 crore and Thursday ₹13 crore. That is a steep slide from the weekend, but a normal one for a film that opened on a holiday. Sacnilk notes that occupancy fell from around 67 percent on day one to roughly 16 percent by Thursday, even though the show count stayed above 15,000 each day.
Sacnilk also says the film crossed 1.01 crore footfalls across India in week one, with about 45.87 lakh bookings on BookMyShow. In plain terms, over ten million people bought a ticket in seven days.
The franchise glow-up
This series started small. ET Now notes the first Drishyam, released in 2015, earned ₹67 crore domestically, and its opening was just ₹5.85 crore. The third film has now passed Drishyam 2's lifetime domestic total of ₹239.67 crore, which makes it the highest-grossing Hindi entry in the franchise.
Among Devgn's leading-man films, ET Now says it already topped Golmaal Again's ₹205.69 crore. The only title still ahead is Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior at ₹279.59 crore net from 2020. Sacnilk says the film is just ₹2.36 crore short of Singham Again's lifetime India net, so that domestic record is likely to fall quickly.
For Gen Z readers, here is the scale. A Thursday, with no holiday and people back at work or school, still pulled in ₹13 crore in a single day. Most films would celebrate that number on their opening day. The staying power suggests word of mouth is doing real work, and that fans of the earlier films are showing up in groups, not just solo.
The cast is part of the story too. Jaideep Ahlawat's turn as the man hunting Devgn's character has fuelled online debate, and Tabu's return keeps the franchise's emotional core intact. Sacnilk even tracks a social-media argument over who else could have played the antagonist, which tells you the film is living in group chats, not only in theatres.
Why week two looks wide open
The second weekend has a clear runway. ET Now reports that Udta Teer, with Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, was pushed from October 9 to October 23 once it became obvious that the thriller was dominating screens. That leaves Drishyam 3 with no new Hindi competition this weekend.
Trade watchers expect the weekend to recover some of the weekday losses. Caution applies, though: these are early industry estimates, and final numbers get revised the next morning. Still, the direction is obvious. For anyone who follows movie news on GenZ NewZ, this is the Bollywood story of the month.
Money is only half of it. The film also shows how the old-school suspense format, a slow-burn plot built on one ordinary family, can still beat flashy action. There are no big special effects here, just a tense story that audiences already care about after eleven years and three chapters.
What it means for Bollywood
A theatrical hit this big matters because multiplex audiences have been picky lately. A fan-favourite franchise finale that pulls people back to cinemas, and makes rival studios move their release dates, shows how much a trusted brand still counts. The next milestone is Tanhaji's ₹279.59 crore. If the second weekend lands the way ET Now expects, the Drishyam 3 box office could pass it within days, and the story of Vijay Salgaonkar will end as the biggest chapter of Devgn's career.
