beabadoobee Drops Pylon and Announces First Arena Tour

beabadoobee is having the busiest week of her career. On Friday, the Filipino-British singer born Beatrice Laus released Pylon, her fourth studio album, through Dirty Hit and Interscope Records. Days later she announced the Powerlines Tour, her first-ever arena run, which opens October 1 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

The record arrived with little breathing room after its announcement, and it lands on top of a catalog that has been climbing since Laus started posting bedroom recordings online as a teenager. Her last album, This Is How Tomorrow Moves, reached number 1 on the UK Official Album Chart in 2024, following Fake It Flowers (number 8 in 2020) and Beatopia (number 4 in 2022). Pylon is now available to stream and buy in digital, CD, and vinyl formats.

A rock record made between tours

Laus has described Pylon as the most wide-ranging and complex album she has made, a tannic rock record that moves between anger, loneliness, ecstasy, and deep love. The songs were written on tour or between tours, when, as she puts it, she needed to understand what was going on in her head. She told reporters the writing process reminded her of making songs at 17, alone in her bedroom.

The album was heralded by the single Write Me A Letter, a driving indie-rock track produced with longtime collaborators Matty Healy and George Daniel of The 1975. Laus has said the song is about seeing her own fault in situations and admitting things she would be too embarrassed to say out loud. Earlier singles Memories, Switchblade, and Sun Has Set round out a 15-track record that closes with Satellite.

The guest list reads like a map of the guitar music Laus grew up on. Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams appears alongside Turnstile singer Brendan Yates, Pinegrove frontman Evan Stephens Hall, Deftones singer Chino Moreno, and Title Fight vocalist Shane Moran, according to the album announcement covered by BroadwayWorld.

The album's 15 tracks run from the title song through Estranged, It's Alright, In Motion, Nothing To Prove, Radio, Powerlines, Spark, and Despite That alongside the singles. Laus has described the throughline as letting go and accepting change, a theme she traced to time on the road when she found herself missing how things used to be.

She has framed the record as an attempt to get comfortable with growing up. Writing on the road, she has said, meant working out how to feel at home in a life that kept moving, and that search for steadiness runs through the album's angrier and quieter moments alike.

First arenas, and a tour that circles the globe

To celebrate the release, Laus is playing a string of intimate release shows in London this week before crossing the Atlantic for the biggest headline dates of her life. The Powerlines Tour, promoted by Live Nation, is her first run of arena-sized venues, and it moves fast: after the October 1 opener in Uncasville, it stops at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia on October 2, TD Garden in Boston on October 3, and Madison Square Garden in New York on October 5.

The North American leg continues through October with stops in Toronto, Los Angeles (The Kia Forum on October 21), and Vancouver before heading to the UK and Europe in November and December, including London's O2 Arena on November 18. The run wraps in Australia in March, with shows in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney. Support on the North American dates comes from Wisp, with Violet Grohl joining for Europe.

From bedroom pop to arena stages

The arena tour is a full-circle moment for an artist who built her early following on lo-fi bedroom pop. Laus, who was born in the Philippines and raised in London, has collected multiple BRIT Award and BBC Sound Of nominations, won NME's Radar award, and amassed more than 10 billion streams and 12 million followers across her social channels, according to the announcement covered by BroadwayWorld.
